Why isn't the jeweler always on the sales floor?

Actually, She starts working on jewelry at 5:00 in the morning. This is when she repairs, design and makes our jewelry. We open our doors at 10:00 AM to the public.

Can you fix it while I wait?

Many small repairs we can do while you wait, however, more involved repairs that require a torch will need to be left. The reason is that any torch repairs require us to leave the sales floor.

Is this worth getting fixed?

We feel that any item that’s precious to you is worth getting repaired, after all, you can’t put a price on sentimental value.

Why don’t you have 70% off sales like department stores and discount stores?

At AKS, we support Truth in Pricing. We don’t mark jewelry up just so we can mark it down. We’ve already given you THE BEST price. You never have to guess. You can be assured you’ve gotten the best price possible.

Local History

Wolcott was originally founded in 1807. It became a bustling town as Ridge Road grew into a turnpike in 1818 and the railroad came through in 1848. Wolcott and the surrounding area was a leg of the journey to freedom for many as they traveled north escaping slavery in the mid 1800’s.

The AKS building was originally built in the 1830’s , the second commercial building in the village and has been home to several prominent businesses over the decades. The intricate pressed metal egg & dart style ceiling has survived through the years and is in the process of being restored as AKS “turns back the hands of time”.

AKS Jewelry celebrates the rich history of Wolcott and is actively preserving & restoring the historic beauty and charm of its own buildings.

Stop in and chat. It seems that this building was a favorite place to come "sit a spell" a century ago, just as it is now. We gladly share our many old photos, historic maps and books that illustrate the “days gone by”.
